Hevel Group and the Government of the Astrakhan Region have signed a partnership agreement on cooperation in the sphere of solar power development.
The agreement has been signed by the governor of the Astrakhan Region Alexander Zhilkin and CEO of Hevel Group Igor Shakhray.
According to the agreement, Hevel is implied to build three solar power plants with a combined capacity of 135 megawatts (MW) in the Astrakhan Region over the period of 2017-2019: SPP “Niva” with the capacity of 15 МW, and two more 60 MW SPP’s in the Privolzhsky (Funtovo settlement) and Akhtuba districts.
The solar power plants will be built in compliance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 499 dd. 28/05/2013 “On the Mechanism for the Promotion of Renewable Energy on the Wholesale Electricity and Capacity Market”. The combined volume of investments may amount to up to 15 billion rubles”. The project investments are provided by the Hevel Group structures. The Government of the Astrakhan Region, in its turn, ensures the project’s comprehensive information and administrative support.
Construction of solar power generation objects will facilitate the increase of regional tax revenue, create new job sites the Astrakhan Region and will allow involving regional companies into project implementation for the period of SPPs' installation, in terms of construction and installation work performance and construction of support structures.
